THE BLOODY MOVEMENT
THE BLOODY MOVEMENT
Final Major Project, Ravensbourne University, 2023
Can the pub be the shortcut to end period poverty?
Challenge
Period Poverty is a global issue affecting those who don’t have access to the safe, hygienic menstrual products they need. Nearly one in eight women (12%) in the UK have struggled to buy menstrual products in the last six months, for themselves and/or a dependent.
Solution
A yearly movement located in pubs to raise awareness and ultimately make period products free. Expanding into the football fan base to encourage proper geezers to subtly take action. With a geezer-friendly sporty creative direction combined with rich British Copy.
Insights
The government states that free period products would not represent the taxpayers’ money.
A gathering point for conversation and discussion for taxpayers is the pub.
